This concert features the string music of two prolific Romantic-era songwriters: Franz Schubert and Hugo Wolf. Wolf’s Italian Serenade is one of his few instrumental pieces - it dances and sings with infectious spirit! The second half of the program, by contrast, features Schubert’s "Death and the Maiden” - an emotional landmark and staple of the string quartet repertoire.
