One string quintet... two very different works.
From classical Italian form to the height of late romantic nationalism - this program will take you on a sonic journey with the strings! Boccherini’s String Quintet No. 3 is a charming work demonstrating the light and elegant style of the classical period. Its characteristic simplicity and charm are hallmarks of Boccherini’s music. Dvorak's String Quintet in G Major is the product of an extremely prolific period of the composer's life and highlights the influence of Czech folk music on his writing.
